New Kickstarter: 1880 Romania by Lonny Orgler

We’re happy to announce a new railway title by Leonhard Orgler that is currently live on Kickstarter.

1880 Romania – Connecting the Danube to the Carpathians

1880 Romania is a classic 18xx game that puts players in the role of railway investors during the development of Romania’s historical rail network. Players compete to build companies, expand rail lines, trade shares, and run trains—aiming to finish the game with the highest total wealth in cash and stock value.

The game is based on the system used in 1880 China (derived from Francis Tresham’s 1829 rules), with several notable differences, including:

  • no 10-trains (the 4+4 is the first permanent train),

  • a revised phase structure,

  • and historical restrictions such as the Austria-Hungary / Romania border in the early game.

The box also includes three dedicated 2-player variants on two maps, one using a dummy player named Amira.
