Railways of the Lost Atlas: Ready and Tested!

We have committed to supporting the game as best we can. As mentioned on our website, we were unable to test our solution initially. Although we expected games in Europe to be available by mid-August, we were fortunate to receive our copy today and have spent some time ensuring a perfect fit for you.

This is our most challenging set. After several hours of testing different setups, we decided to remove one tray. This adjustment means all components will fit inside the game box, although some track tiles will need to be stored separately (in the game box, but not in the tray). While not ideal, we believe you will appreciate how well everything fits once you see the modified setup.

You will have the option to purchase an extra tray to accommodate all track tiles (if you bought our set before 31 July then you will have this additional tray). Our stickers are designed to support this solution, but please note that it will cause the lid to lift by the thickness of the additional tray.

The paper money

This setup does not support paper money. We recommend using poker chips for playing 18xx games, which eliminates the need for paper money. However, if you prefer to store paper money in the game box, be aware that it will result in a 6 mm lid lift. We have created a separate set of trays specifically designed to accommodate paper money. Please be aware that this set differs significantly from the one without paper money support.

Discount for Previous Customers

If you have already purchased our set, regardless of whether you are satisfied with it or not, you can buy both upgrades (either the set with 6 or 7 trays) at a 30% discount. Simply add the special coupon code BETTERSET30 to your order

How to Fit Everything Inside the Game Box:

  • Bottom Layer: Start with the rulebook and revenue track.

  • Trays: Place all three of our trays next.

  • Map and Tile Storage: Store the map tiles together with some of the green/brown tiles. Note that a few of these can be placed beside the trays.

  • Alignment Tip: Since one side of the map tiles has two fewer tiles than the other, you can easily store the stock board on the other side.

  • Top Layer: Finally, add all our smaller card/token holders.

READY! This set works perfectly—all components are easily accessible and the game is ready to play without any ziplock bags!

    1. Nope.

In 18xx games, players typically do not use card sleeves because the cards lay flat on the table and must be visible to all players. Sleeves can create glare and make it difficult to see the cards from across the table. Since it’s crucial to know who holds which shares and in what quantity, clear visibility of the cards is essential, hence the avoidance of sleeves.

  1. I just finished organizing my copy with this solution. I do not know how long it took you to figure out this packing, but I am amazed at how exactly everything fits.
