How many trays do you need for 18xx games? Update…

As promised, I complete the list of games with the number of trays that are needed for them. There are several other titles on my shelf that I will try to supplement systematically, for example: 1883, 1870, 1830 in the 2011 version, or 1848.

I know one thing: the first customer for the trays will be me and when I equip my games with trays, I will also share with you all the photos and the number of trays needed for them.

Games:

  • 1817 old laminate edition : 1 x 15mm tray (the trays fit in the box but the box lid lift a little); comment: put outside the tray NY and B tiles;
  • 1817 new edition : 1 x 15mm + 1 x 9mm (the trays fit in the box but the box lid lift a little); comment: put outside the tray NY and B tiles;
  • 1844/54 Lookout edition: 1 x 15mm + 3 x 9mm (the trays fit in the box but the box lid lift a little)
  • 1882 laminate edition : 2 x 9mm (the trays fit in the box)
  • 1882 new edition : 1 x 15mm + 2 x 9mm (the trays fit in the box)
  • 1889 PnP laminate edition with thin tiles: 2 x 9mm (I don’t know what size box you have, but if it’s the size of GMT boxes then the trays fit in the box)
  • 1889 PnP edition with thick tiles like GMT ones: 1 x 15mm + 1 x 9mm (I don’t know what size box you have, but if it’s the size of GMT boxes then the trays fit in the box)
  • 18CZ: 1 x 15mm + 3 x 9mm (the trays fit in the box probably)
  • 1849: 5 x 9mm (the trays fit in the box probably)

  1. I struggled to fit 1 big and 3 small trays all into the 1844/54 box, with all the certs, trains (unless you’re putting the tokens into one as well?)

    If you don’t mind doubling some tile types, I fitted all the hexes into 1 big (yellows/greens) and 1 small (everything else), which left enough room in the box for everything else
