Are you new 18xx gamer who is looking for thrills in the 18xx world? Would you like to quickly build your 18xx game collection? I have bad news for you, you have to have MUCH patience. Theoretically more than 100 games from the 18xx series have been released so far. But only a few of them you can build right away. Three are three largest publishers:
- All-Aboard Games (USA)
- Golden Spike Games (USA)
- Marflow Games (Germany)
Just 2 years ago, you could buy the game from each of them and get it played soon. Currently, both US publishers are slightly “blocked”. AAG raised massive money to release 18Chesapeake and temporarily it closed its store. Currently, you can only buy games that will be released during next year from AAG.
In turn, Golden Spike Games is blocked by orders. If you order a game from them today, it will be done in about 9 months! If you live overseas, then you have to add 1-2 months for delivery. I will tell you that it is worth waiting, because the games are published at a very decent level, but it is almost a year of waiting.
Of these three publishers, only Marflow Games is still executing orders on time. Marflow has some interesting titles in its offer, but I have the impression that they are less popular or targeted to more advanced players.
Meanwhile, the 18xx games released by other publishers during last few years, are slowly running out. This is the case of 1846, which is sold out and there is not a single copy of this game in GMT warehouse.
There is nothing to do but to wait until next year, when several 18xx games will be released in greater amount (read more here: ), but will this satisfy the demand for 18xx that we have on the market? We will see 🙂

Ciężkie czasy dla kupujących
Jesteście nowymi graczami, którzy szukają wrażeń w świecie 18xx? Chcielibyście szybko zbudować swoją kolekcję gier 18xx? Mam dla was kiepską informację, musicie się uzbroić w DUŻO cierpliwości. Gier z serii 18xx tych teoretycznie wydanych jest chyba ponad 100. Największych wydawców jest trzech:

- Marflow Games (Niemcy)
Jeszcze 2 lata temu u każdego z nich, można było zakupić grę i otrzymać ją w niedługim czasie. Obecnie obaj wydawcy z USA są lekko ‘zablokowani’. AAG zebrało potężne pieniądze na wydanie 18Chesapeake i chwilowo zamknęło swój sklep. Obecnie można w nim kupić tylko takie gry, które ukażą się w większym nakładzie w przyszłym roku.
Golden Spike Games z kolei jest zablokowany zamówieniami. Jeśli zamówicie u nich grę dzisiaj, to dostaniecie ją prawdopodobnie za około 9 miesięcy! Jeśli mieszkacie po drugiej stronie oceanu, to do tych 9 miesięcy, musicie jeszcze doliczyć przynajmniej miesiąc na dostawę. Powiem wam, że warto poczekać, bo gry są wydawane na bardzo przyzwoitym poziomie, ale 9-10 miesięcy to prawie rok.
Z tych trzech wydawnictw tylko Marflow Games jeszcze realizuje zamówienia terminowo. W swojej ofercie Marflow ma kilka ciekawych tytułów, ale mam wrażenie, że są one mniej popularne lub skierowane do bardziej zaawansowanych graczy.
Tymczasem nakłady osiemnastek, wydanych w ostatnich kilku latach powoli się wyczerpują. Tak jest z 1846, które jest wyprzedane i w magazynach GMT nie ma już ani jednej kopii tej gry.
Pozostaje czekać do przyszłego roku, wtedy ukaże się kilka gier 18xx w większym nakładzie, ale czy to zaspokoi ssanie, jakie mamy na rynku na 18xx? Zobaczymy 🙂
GMT has two titles in their P500 pipeline and Kickstarter had two games not that long ago. And if you are really desperate (and be trusted with a rotary cutter!) you can always print-and-play games.
